Because I think the time is right for a Greenaway revival. And because I love handwriting/calligraphy. Sometimes I fear it is slowly becoming extinct. I remember how, only a decade ago, my students all took notes by hand during my classes. And then, suddenly, over the past few years, they started saying things like: "My hand hurts when I have to write things down. Can't you just make a copy for me?"  That used to make me laugh so much.

Pairs

Beautiful images by photographer Alexandra Catiere. I particularly love the quiet tenderness in the first one.

Patouf

I just discovered this lovely Swedish clothing line, Patouf. Above, my three favourite pieces. There's just something about Scandinavian design!

Beardsley

Peacock by Aubrey Beardsley, 1893

This Beardsley illustration always makes me think of my dad. When I was six, he drew me a copy and I thought he was the most talented man in the world.

After seasons of camel, blush or pastel tones and then a summer of eye-popping brights, it's a relief to see colours that actually suit me return to shops. For years it was almost impossible to find any burgundy in collections. Now, it looks as if I will be able to stock up for any dry spells to come!
