Exposed

Exposed brick. Such a lovey way to introduce contrast and texture in your home.

There is a saying in Dutch that every Flemish person was born with a brick in the stomach, because they all want their own house.

Coat love

I adore everything about this coat: the cut, its versatility, the colour. It was even designed by a fellow Belgian, Raf Simons. Love it all - except the price-tag!

I am really excited and happy to announce that one of my favourite blogs, A butterfly in my hair, is featuring a guest post by yours truly today.  Thank you, V, for that lovely opportunity. It's an honour to have been asked to contribute to your beautiful blog.

(thank you Audrey!)

I'm not a fan of a lot of bling, but I love a little subtle metallic shine every now and again.

Garden

Today I want to share these images of Derek Jarman's garden. He created it near Dungeness power station, a place no one else wanted to live at.  I love how it is nothing like a traditional garden and yet, still a place of great, quiet beauty. For those who don't know him: Derek Jarman was a talented artist and filmmaker who died of Aids in 1996.  I still remember how much of an impression his movies, such as Caravaggio (with Tilda Swinton), made on me in the eighties. There was something entirely new about them. They were highly stylized, almost like paintings.

I've been back for a few days after a really lovely trip. Still, haven't had the time to start blogging again. With the move exactly one month away, things are busy, busy, busy.  Will see you soon with some fresh posts!
